Portreadau Pryder | Anxiety Portraits

Mae Portreadau Pryder yn gyfres barhaus o brintiau ffotograffeg sydd wedi’u hysbrydoli gan ffotograffau pasbort o aelodau teulu Ynohtna. Oherwydd eu canllawiau hynod o gaeth, mae llyniau pasbort yn aml yn ymddangos yn ddi-enaid, a dylanwadodd y nodwedd hon ar ei ddull o ddatblygu’r gyfres o ffotograffau. Mae Ynohtna yn ceisio archwilio a portreadu themâu hynod bersonol o drawma a thrais sydd fel arfer yn cael eu cuddio’n ddwfn y tu ôl i’r llygaid; gan ddod â’r brwydrau a brofir gan lawer yn eu bywydau dyddiol i’r amlwg.

Anxiety Portraits are an ongoing series of photographic prints inspired by passport photographs of Ynohtna's family members. Due to their notoriously strict guidelines, passport photos often appear 'soulless', this characteristic influenced his approach in developing the series of photographs. Ynohtna attempts to explore and portray deeply personal themes of trauma and violence that are usually hidden deep behind the eyes; bringing to light the struggles many experience in their daily lives.

Trwy dynnu ar gyffelybiaethau cynrychioliadol o emosiynau mewnol, absenoldeb a phresenoldeb, ac ymchwilio i atgofion unigol a chyfunol, gyda rhinweddau gweadol a chyffyrddol a geir mewn lleoliadau a gwrthrychau. Mae'r edafedd naratif hyn yn galluogi archwilio'r berthynas rhwng tirwedd a hunaniaeth.

Trwy archwilio cysyniadau cof ac emosiwn mewn perthynas ag effeithiau trawma, gan arwain at feddylfryd ac archwiliad o ddamcaniaeth athronyddol Solipsiaeth; lle y mae y syniad mai yr hunan yw y cwbl y gellir gwybod ei fod yn bod, wedi myned yn ddychrynllyd; eto ar brydiau, ideoleg dawel.

Drawing upon representational parallels of inner emotions, absence and presence, and the re-searching of individual and collective memories, with textural and tactile qualities found in locations and objects. These narrative threads enable exploration into the relationship between landscape and identity.

Through exploring the concepts of memory and emotion in relation to the effects of trauma, resulting in the mindset and exploration of the philosophical theory of Solipsism; where the idea that the self is all that can be known to exist, has become a frightening; yet on occasion, a tranquil ideology.

Disgwyl | Waiting

Yn ymddangos yn anghyfleustra, cyflwr o limbo, saib lle caiff ei ddiswyddo fel cyfnod gwag o amser. Mewn cyferbyniad, mae aros yn llawn gobaith, pryder, disgwyliad ac yn aml yn llawn meddwl dwfn a myfyrdod. Heddiw, mae unigolion yn aml yn camddehongli'r eiliadau hyn fel diflastod neu wastraff amser rhwng eiliadau ystyrlon neu gynhyrchiol.

Yn seicolegol, mae aros yn caniatáu i'n meddyliau grwydro, i ailchwarae atgofion yn ogystal ag wynebu ansicrwydd, mae'n amgylchedd diogel lle mae'r gorffennol, y presennol a'r dyfodol yn gwrthdaro; mae amser yn dod yn hylif a thrwy'r weithred syml o aros, gellir dod o hyd i eiliadau o eglurder.

Seemingly an inconvenience, a state of limbo, a pause where it is dismissed as an empty period of time. In contrast, waiting is dense with hope, anxiety, anticipation and often filled with deep thought and reflection. Today, individuals often misinterpret these moments as boredom or a waste of time in between meaningful or productive moments.

Psychologically, waiting allows our minds to wander, to replay memories as well as to confront uncertainty, it’s a safe environment where past, present and future collide; time becomes fluid and by the simple act of waiting, moments of clarity may be found.

 waiting, interminably waiting, and then...

diswgyl, yn ddiddiwedd yn disgwyl, ac yna...
